We receive a lot of questions about product quality and testing. We understand your concerns because Quality, Formulation and Testing are the key reasons we created Split Science! Our first and flagship product are Resveratrol capsules. If you’re on the Resveratrol journey, you know you have to take a high potency product (500-1000 mg/day) every day for the rest of your life. For this reason we wanted to KNOW we were paying for a truly high potency, high quality product that has been tested to meet specifications. Split Science Resveratrol capsules are formulated to contain 500 mg of trans-Resveratrol per capsule- no “complexes”, no “50% extracts” no fairy dusted “support” ingredients, just high potency trans-Resveratrol with complete truth in labelling. Our products are tested in accordance with Health Canada’s Quality of Natural Health Products Guide which includes testing at both the raw material (the materials going into the product) and finished product (the bottled final capsules) stages. This testing includes the following:
Raw materials (all lots of active powders)
Identity – material identified as trans-resveratrol. Potency – minimimum 98%. Purity - testing for contaminants such as microorganisms, solvent residues and heavy metals.
Finished Capsule (each lot of finished product)
Appearance – off-white powder in a 00 vegan capsule. Potency – 500 mg resveratrol/capsule. Purity – testing for contaminants such as microorganisms, solvent residues and heavy metals against USP and Health Canada limits. Performance - Disintegration/Dissolution of the capsule shell and contents.
We use industry leading test methods including those specified in the United States. Pharmacopoeia (USP) and always employ USP or Health Canada tolerance limits. The above mentioned tests are performed on every lot of raw material and finished product, always.
In addition to the above, our Resveratrol capsules are manufactured in Canada in a facility that possesses a valid Health Canada Site Licence for the manufacturing, packaging and labelling of natural health products (NHPs; aka dietary supplements). This site licence is evidence the product is manufactured under good manufacturing practices (GMP) and all processes in place have been reviewed by Health Canada.
